Studio Etiquette & FAQs

GIVE YOURSELF TIME.
Our studio will be open 15 minutes prior to class. You’ll want to ensure plenty of time to check in, set up and begin on time. Please wait at the front desk if there is a line even if you’ve already reserved a spot online. You’ll need to sign the class roster.
LEAVE IT AT THE DOOR.
No shoes unless Line Dance, Tap Dance or Zumba footwear, no gum, strong scents (on mat or body) or cell phones in the studio. Please turn your phones off or on vibrate upon arrival.
QUIET TIME.
Please keep conversations outside of the studio and if having a conversation before class please do so quietly as other classes may be in session.
SPACE FOR EVERYONE.
If the studio is full please adjust your mat over so that space can be created for everyone. Be kind to new students and allow them to have access to the back and middle rows so that they may watch and learn.
HONOR YOURSELF.
If you need to rest during a class, please do so. You may step out, rest in child’s pose, or simply pause and catch your breath.
SACRED TIME.
During Savasana at the end of yoga, please find rest. Not only is it one of the most important aspects of your practice, it provides a calm and silent space for your neighbors. This is not a good time to drink water or pack up and leave class. Please be respectful.
What classes are suitable for those brand new to yoga?
Classes titled Gentle Yoga or Restorative/Yin Yoga are suitable for beginners. Yoga Flow classes may be difficult for a beginner but if you’re up for a challenge sign up and let your teacher know that you are brand new 🙂
Do you offer both heated and non heated classes?
We offer non heated classes as the studio is held at a comfortable room temperature. Various classes are held in all 3 of our studios in order to provide options for all practitioners.
What if I’m out of shape and not flexible?
You don’t need to be in shape or flexible to benefit from movement practices. Our offerings are for EVERYbody at any fitness level. By moving regularly you will notice both physical and mental fitness improve as well as your flexibility. Touching your toes is not a prerequisite.
What class should I try?
It is a good practice to try different classes to get an idea of the style of movement and also learn from various instructors. Gentle, Yin and Restorative yoga classes are physically less demanding. Pump, Piloxing, and Zumba are more high energy in nature and focus on agility, strength, and calorie burn.
How often should I take class to get the best results?
Everyone is different, but as with any practice, consistency and dedication make all the difference. As an individual it depends on what your goals are. Any time you practice movement you are giving your body a gift. Two to three times a week will provide you with a transformation over time. For life changing results, it is recommended to practice four to six times a week on a consistent basis.
Should I practice if I’m pregnant?
We recommend Gentle yoga classes for pregnant women. We would not propose any classes that use weight bearing props such as Pump and Fit and Flow Yoga. Each student is encouraged to listen to their own body. Individual limitations should always be respected. In all instances, a doctor’s consent is recommended prior to the movement practice.
What do I need to bring to class?
  • Students are encouraged to bring along their own mat. We rent mats however for $1.
  • Please bring a water bottle and if you forget we sell water also for $1.
  • In our Barre and dance classes students like to wear barre socks which we have on hand, $10.
What else should I know before I go?

Dance, yoga and fitness classes are best practiced on an empty stomach.
All classes are first come, first serve.

Studio doors are open 15 minutes before class and closed during the class.

Can I do a drop-in?
Absolutely. Our doors open 15 minutes prior to class. Arrive in time to complete a new student form and get settled into your classroom.
Can I reserve a spot online?
Yes, You can create an account and register for a class using the Mind Body app. Download from the APP store on your smart phone or tablet.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable, breathable clothing that is suitable for movement. Loose T-shirts are not recommended as they tend to fall over one’s heads when in an inverted shape.
Am I able to extend my class pass beyond the 6 month time frame?
Life happens. If you know you will be away or have a medical issue please reach out and we will be happy to extend your pass beyond the original time frame by one month.
What if I have an injury or feel unwell?

If you have an injury please be cleared from your doctor before attending our classes. Please relay to the instructor your injury. Listen to what your body is telling you and move accordingly.

Please do not attend if you have a cold or flu as you risk more harm to yourself as well as others. Stay home and get well soon.

How do I purchase a gift card?
You may visit our reception desk or email and we will help you obtain a gift certificate. We offer a range of options. You can have them delivered directly to the recipient via email or you can simply print the certificate and present it yourself.
What is AntiGravity® Fitness Aerial Yoga?

Aerial Yoga is a relatively new approach to a traditional yoga practice.  We use a silk fabric called a ‘hammock’ or ‘swing’ to support the weight of our bodies, helping us achieve various postures with more depth, ease and excitement.  By relieving 20-80% of body weight, the hammock allows students to rapidly increase their flexibility while improving balance and core strength. In doing so, students are able to reach more advanced yoga poses if desired, like inversions, offering drastic improvements in health and vitality in a short amount of time. In addition, the swings are used as “wraps” on our bodies that gently massage and stimulate various acupressure meridians of the body.  An overall detox effect can be experienced and felt by practitioners.
