Hatha, meaning sun and moon, this class offers postures that are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques are integrated as the class focuses on moving in and out of poses linking the breath to each movement. The instructor will offer simple, repetitive and clear cues, offering a variety of modifications to encourage the participation of every body. Full mind/body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we practice sitting and standing postures, explore twists, backbends, folds, hip openers and suggest challenging variations for more advanced practitioners, yet fun and non-intimidating options for newer students.
